The start stop button is wireless. That would also mean it has a battery in it. I assume a button cel battery. The wire you see in this image is an antenna wire.
How my remote works is, hold the unlock button until it chirps, Then press the start button. It takes a minute for the current battery charge to update on ther screen.
A long press on the screen button switches from Kilometers to mph. A short press brings up the trip meter. A long press resets the trip meter to zero. If you hold the button when you turn it on you can select the different front wheel sizes.
